It’s not all doom and gloom for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The team announced Monday that starting quarterback Nick Foles has been ruled out for the season after he underwent surgery on a torn meniscus in his left knee on Sunday.
Foles, who missed all of last season with an ACL injury, said on Tuesday that he had surgery Monday and plans to have a second procedure in the coming weeks.
Fitzgerald was signed by the Eagles after Brady’s season ended, and Foles had a productive preseason, throwing for 3,069 yards and 16 touchdowns.
But it’s not clear whether the team will be ready to make the playoffs.
The Eagles have not made the playoffs since 2013, when they missed the playoffs for the first time in six years.
