Oprah sex trafficking, I-10 trafficing and other traffic issues were discussed in the hearing.
The I-Walking Task Force was formed last month after an investigation into how I-15 and I-20 were being used by drug cartels.
The task force is expected to hold a series of hearings across the state, and in the future, it could also hold public hearings in cities like Philadelphia, Denver and Detroit.
In addition to hearing from victims, victims and their advocates, lawmakers are expected to consider a bill that would increase the penalties for I-wandering, including increased fines and jail time.
The task force also is expected on Wednesday to issue recommendations to improve enforcement of state and federal laws and regulations on I-walking.
